Kristin, a graduate of Texas Tech Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, relocated to the Metroplex has been working in the aesthetics and dermatology field since 1999. She has worked on many Dallas and International models, professional athletes, and celebrities to help them look their best in front of and off the camera. She specializes in laser procedures (skin rejuvenation and hair removal), vein removal (sclerotherapy) and offers over 36 different skin care lines depending on her patients needs. Biomedic

For the past decade, BioMedic has led the way in developing state-of-the-art therapeutic skin care treatments and products. The skincare line provides superior results for correcting damage caused by aging, sun exposure, hyperpigmentation, acne and hypersensitivity. The BioMedic skin care line features:

Botox

Botox is a purified protein that is injected directly into specific facial muscles to weaken them and help soften fine lines and wrinkles.  Popular injection sites are the “crows feet” (lines at sides of eyes), glabella (in between the eyes), forehead, and vertical lip lines.  Numbing is typically not needed; however ice can be used prior to the injection, if requested.  A typical treatment can last about 3 months. The FDA approved glabella injections in May 2002. (Each site starts at $180.)

Botox can also be used for severe underarm sweating (hyperhidrosis).  Botox is also FDA approved for hyperhidrosis when topical agents don’t work.  Botox treatments help control this condition by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands.  When the sweat glands don’t receive chemical signals, severe sweating stops.

Chemical Peels

This is a technique used to improve the appearance of the skin.  A chemical solution is applied to the skin which causes it to separate and peel off allowing new skin to regenerate.  The new skin is smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin, and may also be more even in color.  Our practice offers a variety of intensities, strengths and brands to achieve the best results for your skin.  Chemical peeling has emerged as an exciting anti-aging procedure.  Results of chemical peels may also be enhanced by intense pulsed light/radiofrequency techniques.  A thorough evaluation by one of the dermatologists or the nurse aesthetician is necessary before choosing a chemical peel program.

SkinCeutical Facials

Calming Facial: This facial is designed to help calm and smoothe acne/rosacea skin. The Vitamin C Firming Masque will aid in reducing erythema caused by rosacea. The Phyto Corrective Gel acts as a hydrator, without leaving the skin oily, and its’ anti-bacterial/anti-septic properties help heal and calm acneic skin.

Deep Pore-Cleansing Facial: This facial is perfect for the teenaged client or any client experiencing "teen-like" acne. The combination of products helps to reduce oil without drying and gives the skin the hydration it needs. Botanicals in the Phyto Corrective Gel help to heal acne, while the Clarifying Clay Masque draws out oils that can cause clogged pores.

Soothing Treatment: The Soothing Treatment is designed to help hypersensitive skin types. The gentleness of the Gentle Cleanser leaves the skin feeling clean, without the dryness. Hydrating B5 Gel hydrates the skin, giving it the "drink of water" needed. Finish it off with the photoprotective benefits of C + E or Serum 10 and Daily Sun Defense and your hypersensitive skin will feel rejuvenated.

Refining Pre-Peel Preparation: The Pre-Peel preparation helps to prepare the clients skin for the microdermabrasion ($100). The procedure should be done immediately prior to the procedure. The take-home regime of Skin System I can help extend the procedure results and can also be begun prior to procedure to reduce potential reddening of the skin.

SkinCeuticals Firming Facial: The SkinCeuticals Firming Facial is ideal for the client who desires to have luminous, hydrated, firmer skin. The facial leaves the skin feeling and looking healthier with a radiant, firmer complexion-ideal for all occasions when clients desire a glowing, visible youthful appearance.

Regenerating Facial: The Regenerating Facial is designed to give all skin types that special, pampered treatment they deserve. The combination of SkinCeuticals products help to leave the skin hydrated, refreshed, and ready to take on the environment ravages of the day.

Acneic Skin Treatment: This is designed for the treatment of inflamed, irritated, acneic skin types. This treatment includes a calming masque and soothing corrective and protective products. This treatment is ideal for the oily, acneic skin type sensitive to other products.

Fotofacial RF

The Fotofacial RF  procedure is a new, innovative, non-surgical treatment that uses gentle pulses of light combined with electrical energy to improve the appearance of skin.  With the Fotofacial RF procedure, wrinkles can now be diminished or softened as well as skin redness, discoloration, sunspots, rosacea, and spider veins with no downtime.  Skin anywhere on the body can be treated and made to look more beautiful.  This technology is truly a major advance in the non-surgical, non-invasive treatment of aged skin and wrinkles.  The result of Fotofacial RF treatments is smoother, clearer, healthier, more youthful skin that does not have the look of cosmetic surgery or laser surgery.  It is also important to get on a skin care program before, during and after the treatments, to maximize you treatment response.  Maintaining what we have achieved is an essential part of the success after the treatments.  The nurse aesthetician will provide each patient with a complimentary skin care evaluation during the Fotofacial consultation.  Treatments are a series of 5 treatments every 3 weeks. 

Patients typically have 1-2 treatments annually for maintenance, or more depending on what they want to achieve.

Jane Iredale Make-up

This line of natural mineral cosmetics, is known for its fast/weightless coverage, inert antimicrobial properties and minimum allergy risk.  It is anti-inflammatory, very water resistant, and has no talc or FD&C dyes.  It is called “The Skin Care Make-up.”  Join us every 6 weeks for complimentary makeovers here at our luxurious spa like office.  Jane Iredale Make-up was originally designed to cover up redness from treatments such as post chemical peels, laser resurfacing, Fotofacials, Restylane or Botox redness.  The nurse aesthetician is happy to assist you with your makeup coverage after your cosmetic procedures are done by our dermatologists.

La Roche-Posay

La Roche-Posay offers physician dispensed daily skincare and in-office chemical peels formulated specifically for all skin conditions, even the most demanding. Hair Removal

Elos technology is the first technology that effectively removes hair of all colors- including white, gray, red and blonde.  Elos is a faster, gentler way to remove unwanted hair on all colors of skin, with exceptional results.  Discounts are available in packages of 5 treatments.

MD Forte

This glycolic line is very popular for the acneic, oily skin patient.  Glycolic acid is an acid derived from sugar, which helps with exfoliation and assists with the correction of premature signs of aging.

Microdermabrasion

This procedure is done in the office to help penetrate topical medications, skin care products or to gently exfoliate the stratum corneum.  Microdermabrasions are very tolerable, and no numbing is needed.  Come and experience this luxury treatment and see for yourself.  (A mini facial is included after each treatment).

Obagi

Nuderm is a line of products that was made specifically to go with the Obagi Blue Peel.  The goal of Obagi is to create soft, radiant-looking skin, to increase skin tolerance to environmental assault and to restore normal skin functions.  It also corrects surface discoloration and blemishes.  Importantly, it also penetrates into the skin to stimulate skin cell renewal, improve circulation and help rebuild collagen.  The normal barrier function of the skin is restored, making the skin less sensitive and better able to hydrate properly.  After 6 weeks (one skin cycle), new skin cells emerge to the surface.

Procyte (Neova)

GHK Copper Peptide Complex- the goals of this line are to exfoliate dead skin cells, minimize fine lines and wrinkles, even out skin tones and correct evidence of sun damage.  Copper plays a vital role in skin health by helping restore the skin’s ability to repair itself. 

Restylane

Restylane is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler (hyaluronic acid) that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct mild to moderate facial wrinkles and folds such as nasolabial folds.  Lips and vertical lip lines are also a popular injection site.  Nerve blocks and local numbing are injected for patient comfort, and usually wears off in a few to several hours.  There is no test site, pre or post-op meds needed, and after the initial swelling resolves in a few days, folds, lips and wrinkles are dramatically improved.

Sclerotherapy

The very popular treatment of unsightly leg veins is a large part of the aesthetic practice.  When it comes to dealing with leg veins, it is critical that you consult with knowledgeable, experienced nurses.  The correct evaluation, assessment and plan is a critical part in the success of treating leg veins. Sclerodex is a FDA approved sclerosant used during the treatment.  Sclerotherapy is considered cosmetic, and is not covered by insurance.  The injections are not very painful for most patients depending on the size of the vessel treated.  Sclerodex is an extremely safe solution, with very low incidence of complication, and no allergic reactions have been reported.  Side effects can include, temporary hyperpigmentation, and other more severe side effects such as scarring, ulceration or infection may occur, but are very rare.

Skin Ceuticals

The advanced skin care line is designed to prevent future damage, protect healthy skin and correct previous damage.  This line is known for their Vit C serums, which helps with fine lines, texture and sheen of the skin, and discoloration.  They also have excellent alternatives to hydroquinone (skin bleaching), to help chip away at pigment.

Skin Medica

Skin Medica is a line that contains superior formulations of antioxidants, natural botanicals and cosmeceutical ingredients for the ultimate rejuvenation of healthy skin.

Solvere

Striae

At last, a scientifically proven stretch mark treatment.  Striae cream reinforces skin to improve the appearance of stretch marks.  After 4-6 weeks, the cream fades stretch mark redness and whiteness, smoothes out ridges and has helped 30,000 people with stretch marks caused by pregnancy, weight changes, rapid growth and weight lifting.

Sunscreens

All of our lines offer a sunscreen.  Sunscreen should be worn everyday to prevent sun damage and skin cancer.  In Texas, we cannot help but get sun exposure.  We get about 70% of our sun exposure during our daily activities, such as driving a car, going to the mailbox, sitting by a window, etc.  Remember, that you can even get sunburn on overcast days.  For the best sun block application and efficacy, apply your lotion 30-45 min. before intense sun exposure, which is necessary for EBT (epidermal binding time).

Topix

Glycolix Elite Products- this line offers products highly concentrated with liposomal vitamins A, C, E, green tea extract and Co-Q10 to assist in minimizing free radical induced skin damage.
